Q. Do I have to buy hiking boots or can I just use sneakers?

A. Purchasing hiking boots/trail shoes can be a pricey investment and will require time to break them in. So, aim for a pair of sturdy shoes/sneakers with proper support. But make sure they aren't mesh/cloth sneakers or too heavy, give you good traction, and are thick enough to avoid feeling the stony path. If you do decide to buy hiking boots are a half a size bigger as your feet can swell up during a hike and you want to make sure you’re comfortable. Wear cotton, nylon, or merino wool socks, as they wick away moisture!

Q. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR A RECLAMA HIKE?

A. Wear comfortable, active wear that will help you keep dry and allow you to move. For a day hike, pack light. Your backpack should have wide straps (no draw-string bags). Pick a medium to small sized pack with enough room for 4 water bottles, your phone and other essential items. Hiking boots/trail shoes if you have, see above.

Q. WHAT SHOULD I PACK FOR A RECLAMA HIKE?

A. Pack at least 4 bottles of water and/or lunch or at least snacks. Your favorite crystals or stones. Sun protection, bug repellent, sunglasses. Change of clothes and any other items that will help you feel refreshed, For example, pack a sweat towel if need be. Hiking journal and pen will be provided for you on our hikes.
