Grounding Your Energy FT. Cindy Rodriguez of Reclama
Ascending and Grounding go hand-in-hand. Often times, people mention the significance of "grounding," but don't share how-to do it or resources for going about grounding methods. In this episode, Cindy Rodriguez, Earth Element Enthusiast and Expert, joins me to share simple tips to Ground your energy, amidst pandemic or no pandemic, with easy methods. We take a deep dive into the beauty of grounding in the 3D and working with the lower chakras as it relates to Spirituality and Ascension.
Refinery29: Why Palo Santo Is More Than Just A "Fragrance Trend"
The ritualistic burning of Palo Santo, which translates to "sacred" or "holy" wood, can be traced back to the Incan Empire, where it was used in spiritual ceremonies and as a kind of folk medicine.
The Healing Power of Nature
As shared by Cindy, nature is our safe space. We often forget to give ourselves that time to just be by ourselves, and nature is the perfect setting for that. It lets you step away from the everyday hustle and just be at peace with nature and yourself. Cindy gets so much clarity in nature and being out there when distress allows her to have moments with herself and reflect that it’s not her truth but is just the situation she’s in at the moment. Nature allows us to just leave our grievances and it has its own ways of taking care of them for us.
How Reclaiming My Bruja Spirituality Led to Launching My Own Business
If you had told me that I would eventually launch a company that involves me being out in nature, creating spiritual writing kits and sharing what I know to help women like me — I would’ve called you a damn liar.
Cindy Y. Rodriguez is the founder and creator of Reclama. Reclama is a spiritual wellness community helping women of color reclaim themselves through hiking and journaling.
Latinas Are Leaning on Ancestral Knowledge To Reclaim Wellness In 2020
“I wanted people to see that we can occupy space unapologetically and not just as a woman of color but as a woman of color connecting to spirit. I wanted to use this as an opportunity to teach these women some of the things my family has taught me about nature and spirituality”.
The JMS alumna draws from her journalism background and family’s indigenous traditions to help women of color reclaim ancestral wisdom, connect with nature, and more. “There’s a reason why you want to be in media; the world needs your voice."
5 Latinas Championing Diversity In The Outdoors
After a solo winter trip to Badlands National Park in South Dakota, Cindy Rodriguez realized the journal she carried was among the most important items packed. After all, her trip through the national park was inspired by her need to reflect on life and return to the outdoors. Not long after, Reclama, a spiritual wellness community for women of color she founded in 2018, was born.
“You take up space in the woods, you will take up space in other parts of our life,” Rodriguez tells Luz Collective.
“I hit rock bottom after leaving a ten-year relationship and being laid off from my job. I had to move back in with my mother. When this happened, I turned to nature as my safe haven. I walked among the trees; grazing them with my fingertips; I climbed big rocks to workout the pain my body was holding onto…”
The fall season comes with a slew of transitions. The summer is ending, autumn is here and already stores are filling up the aisles with Halloween alongside Christmas decor. This time of the year flies by which makes it a perfect time to slow all the way down. The one place I know I can find that solace is in nature so when the invitation came to stay in a tiny cabin overlooking what I can only describe as majestic mountains, I jumped on the opportunity.
The Power of Intuition
In this episode of Latino USA, Cindy explores the scientific and cultural importance of intuition. We speak to scientist Galang Lufityanto who breaks down his research into intuitive decision-making. Then, we head to the Brooklyn Brujeria festival to learn about how intuition has been a guiding force in a growing Latinx feminist movement—and how the work of women like Tatianna Tarot, Emilia Ortiz, The Mexican Witch, Luz Astral and others is helping young Latinas cope. Finally, we hear about Cindy’s journey to accept her own sense of intuition, through her relationship with her mother.
HIKING, WRITING and CONNECTING WITH YOUR ROOTS
“Once we understand that these roots were meant to be erased by colonizers, we allow ourselves to reclaim them, and learn about them, uphold them… find beauty and worth in them. For, many of us have been taught that indigenous and traditional practices of our ancestors were not worth and shouldn’t be explored, passed down, and should be erased. What I see is that newer generations of WOC are looking to reclaim them and learn about them and uphold them (even if our parents don’t understand why we want to do that).”
