Post-Hike Recap: When Things Don't Go Right, Go Left
I woke up on Sunday morning so damn ready to go meet you all for our hike but there was this nagging feeling that I should be ready for the unexpected so I made sure to get a large coffee so I could be ready for anything. I’m so glad I did because a tiny but temporary wrench was thrown in the mix.
There it was upon entering the Palisades Interstate Park: the road to our trail was closed because of all the rocks that had fallen during the rainfall the night before. So I had to think quickly and figure out what the backup trail was going to be. That’s when I thought of the Shore Trail in the Palisades Interstate Park. Oh, yes, ruins galore with even more panoramic views.
Everyone was redirected to another part of the park, we all met, and then the temperature started to go up which helped keep us warm. Once I realized that this was the trail that led to one of my favorite parts of the park, it was nearly impossible to keep it to myself. I kept reassuring everyone that the end would be super picturesque. The ruins will make anyone feel like a kid in a magical playground.
This also happened to be the perfect spot to stop, ground ourselves, meditate a bit with our crystals and take not one but about 300 photos because life is short so live it the hell up.
Thank you to everyone who came out and shared space with us. I appreciated all of you who worked with me to get to this other trail. You all are the real ones! Because when things don’t go right, try going left.
If you couldn’t make it to this hike, no worries. We have a Full Moon Hike in February where we’ll be focusing on love, particularly self-love. Join us!
