Hiking 101: Outdoor Essentials for Women of Color

You don’t need to climb a mountain to call yourself a hiker — but you do need the right tools, mindset, and safety knowledge to feel grounded and confident outside.

Hiking 101: Outdoor Essentials for Women of Color is a 90-minute virtual workshop designed to help you plan, pack, and protect yourself on the trail — whether you’re hiking alone or with a small group.

📅 Date: Wednesday, October 29
🕒 Time: 8PM ET (1.5 hour)
📍 Location: Zoom (link sent after registration)

This isn’t about looking cute on the trail (though we love a good fit). It’s about becoming a confident, prepared hiker who knows how to trust her instincts, move with awareness, and feel at home outdoors.

Because the outdoors belongs to everyone.

We’ll cover:

🥾 How to plan your hike: Simple steps to choose the right trail, read maps and apps with confidence, and know what to check before heading out.

🎒 What’s in your hiking bag: Packing the 10 essentials, plus what to leave behind and what small things to pack that make a big difference for women of color in the outdoors.

🚨 Safety + awareness: Recognize red flags, stay aware of your surroundings, and take smart, grounded action to keep yourself safe on the trail.

🌿 Confidence building: How to trust your body and the mental and spiritual tools that help you feel like you belong on every trail you step onto — plus, tips for solo and familia hikes.

You’ll receive:

📝 A “What’s in My Bag” packing checklist PDF (go-to safety essentials and comfort items)
💭 A short reflection exercise to help you ground and set your intention before hitting the trail
