Who is ready for Reclama’s last hike of this wild year?
About the hike: (Moderate) We’re going to end 2020 on Storm King Mountain, a 2.4 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York. It’s a loop so we won’t be coming back the same way we went in. If it’s not too cold we will meditate/journal for a bit when we get there. You must have hiking boots for this hike since there will be rock scrambles. Take a look here.
Mood: You’ll be surprised how gratifying hikes in the cold weather can be. Once you start moving you won’t be cold anymore. Let’s end the year in nature. Also, these views will give us life.
Distance: 2.4 miles
Public Transportation: You can take the Metro-North Hudson line to the Cold Spring Station, then walk the remaining 1.5 to the trailhead. Be sure to check the train schedule so you arrive at 10 am to meet us.
Parking: The lot gets full pretty quickly so many people park on the side of the road (9W). When searching for the parking lot you can either type in “Storm King State Park parking lot – RTE 9W North, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520” or the GPS coordinates: 41.42295,-74.00067

Important updates: If you’ve come to other hikes you know we could be a group of 5 or 25 BUT because Covid-19 (see more updates below), there’ll be no more than 10-12 people per hike to give us ample room to be socially distant.
Must wear face masks (and wear them properly)

Must be in good health
Must be okay with getting their temperature checked via our handy forehead thermometer
Bring your own snacks and water. I’ll be sending out an email 3 days prior and then the night before all with information on how to prep, what to pack, and more. Refunds are not available but you can transfer your ticket to someone else. If it rains, the hike will be rescheduled for the following day.
