Reclama’s New Moon Journaling Guide

In a world where we often find ourselves caught up in the grind of planning weeks, months, or even years ahead, the arrival of a new moon represents a sacred pause—a chance to recalibrate our focus and intentions for the upcoming two weeks.

Reclaim your time and align with the rhythm of lunar cycles, taking advantage of the opportunity to align your goals with the natural ebb and flow of the cosmos.

How to Prep: 

Ground Yourself With a Breathing Exercise: Find a comfy spot to sit in. Put your left hand on your chest (this ALSO gives the brain sensation as a hug) and your right hand on your belly. Take a big deep breath, fill your belly up, suspend the breath and then release slowly through the mouth. Do this 10 times before you start.

Set up Your Space: Set aside at least 30 minutes. This is your time with yourself. Honor it by putting away your cell, clearing the physical space you will be journaling in, and smudge the area if you can. 

Get Your Mindset Right: Life has a way of throwing curveballs, but in this sacred space, give yourself permission to release any stress or worries. Take a moment to acknowledge any thoughts or emotions that may be lingering, then gently set them aside. If you have a lot on your mind, do a spiritual brain dump with a timer and embrace free-flowing, unfiltered writing to clear mental clutter. 

Visualize yourself stepping into a state of ease and flow, where manifesting your intentions feels natural and effortless. Trust in the power of the universe to support you on this journey, and approach your journaling session with a sense of curiosity and compassion. Remember, you are the author of your story and can change how this chapter ends however you see fit.

Tools: Journal, pen and add a candle or whip out your favorite crystals to your space for extra magia. Objects carry energy so be intentional about what you let into this space. This will help put your body, mind and spirit at ease.

New Moon Journal Prompts:

Note: You can do one or all of the journal prompts in this guide. It’s your world. But at least do one and, if you can, do more. Choose the one that stands out to you first. Most importantly, you are writing these in the present tense, as if it’s already happening.

  1. Dream Fucking Big: Alright, listen up, queen. It's time to dream big—like skyscraper big. What lights your soul on fire? What's that thing that gets you jumping out of bed in the morning? Write that shit down. This new moon is your chance to set those intentions and make 'em happen. Write in the present tense!

  2. Breaking Free: It's time to break out of that box you've been stuck in. What's been holding you back? What's been keeping you playing small? Screw that noise. Embrace the energy of this new moon and bust out of those chains like the badass you are. It's time to reclaim your freedom and run wild.

  3. Owning Your Wisdom: Think about all the shit you've been through—the good, the bad, and the straight-up ugly. What lessons have you learned along the way? What wisdom can you reclaim from those experiences to help you level up? Own that shit, embrace it, and let it guide you forward. 

  4. Trusting Your Inner Knowing: You got that inner voice, right? That gut feeling that knows what's up? Yeah, that's your secret weapon. Tune into that shit, even when the world's screaming in your ear. Trust that inner knowing, set your boundaries like a boss, and let your intuition be your North Star. 

  5. Speaking Your Truth: Your voice is your power, babe. So speak up. Don't hold back, don't sugarcoat it—lay it all out there, raw and unfiltered. Your truth is your superpower, so own it, rock it, and let it light up the damn sky. How can you use the power of your voice to transform pain into empowerment?

  6. Reclaiming Your Identity: Embrace the energy of rebellion, support, and passion within you. What aspects of your identity do you celebrate? How can you let your authenticity shine even brighter? How can you honor your multifaceted identity and use it as a catalyst for change? Remember, your story is your strength.

  7. Navigating Inevitable Uncertainty: How do you handle uncertainty like the queen you are? What inner strengths do you rely on? Take a moment to affirm your power and resilience. Extra Credit: How can you navigate life's uncertainties with courage while also trusting in divine timing?
