Catskills Glamping Retreat (Co-Ed Edition)
A co-ed glamping retreat centering women of color and open to all BIPOC, with tents, meals, workshops, and deep rest in the Catskills.
It boosts endorphins, reduces stress and helps keep you present. By allowing ourselves to be unapologetically spiritual in a place like the outdoors, we honor and affirm how we take up space in the world.
The peace you get from being out on a hike naturally leads to personal reflection because your mind is super clear and you’re tapped into your highest self. Writing in this state is a powerful way to connect with yourself and what you want out of life. Once the pen hits the paper, anything is possible.
Spiritual freedom as we unapologetically take up space in nature, self-esteem on point, nature high that lasts about a week, inner peace, remembering who the fuck you are, feeling grounded, deep connection with nature, appreciation for ancestral land a.k.a. Pachamama, self-revelations through journaling, and the sassiness to stand in your power. You’ll always walk away from a hike feeling better than how you came in.
A co-ed glamping retreat centering women of color and open to all BIPOC, with tents, meals, workshops, and deep rest in the Catskills.
In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, we’re hitting the trail to reclaim what’s always been ours—our stories, our traditions, our power.
This isn’t just a hike—it’s a call to remember. To ask the real questions. To bring our ancestors into the conversation and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that colonization, migration, and survival tried to bury.
We’ll walk, journal, and reflect on the legacy we carry and the culture we’re still shaping.
✨ Who were our ancestors beyond their struggle?
✨ What got lost—and what still lives in us?
✨ How do we reclaim the pieces we weren’t taught but still feel?
This is a space for joy, grief, laughter, curiosity, and pride. A space to be in nature, in community, and in conversation with the roots that made us.
Come as you are—ready to hike, ready to write, and ready to reclaim.

Calling all Peruvians in the diaspora in the metro-area, vamos a pasar el dia con Pachamama. Vamos!
In honor of Peruvian Independence Day (July 28-29)—but let’s be real, we celebrate all month!—we’re gathering Peruvians in the diaspora for a powerful day in nature.
Nature is a bridge to our ancestors, offering space to reclaim our strength, reflect, and connect with our heritage. Ancestral landscapes hold sacred wisdom, helping us deepen our sense of identity, honor our roots, and step into our power.
Meet Vanessa — Co-Founder of The Peruana Collective 🇵🇪
Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Vanessa grew up in a warm, entrepreneurial household where her love for family, food, and Peruvian culture was deeply nurtured. Sundays meant huayno, música criolla, and family meals that celebrated heritage and home.
Vanessa, co-founder of The Peruana Collective, at our past hike in the Hudson Valley.
In 2008, after studying English in NYC, she returned determined to make the city her own. She earned her degree in Marketing & Advertising Communications from FIT in under three years, all while navigating a new country on her own.
Now a travel expert and Director of Marketing for her family’s hospitality business, Vanessa brings deep knowledge of Peru, a passion for cultural connection, and years of experience in the tourism world. Her story is rooted in resilience, curiosity, and deep pride for her Peruvian roots.
Cindy and Vanessa created The Peruana Collective (TPC) is a vibrant and growing community dedicated to empowering the Peruvian diaspora. What started as a small gathering in 2018 to celebrate Peruvian Independence Day has blossomed into a thriving network of Peruanas coming together to foster connection, celebrate our cultura, and amplify our voices. Through curated events and cultural experiences, we create opportunities for meaningful engagement and economic empowerment within our community. We’re here to bridge the gap between Peruvians born and raised in Peru and Peruvian-Americans, creating a welcoming and inclusive space where all Peruanxs feel seen, heard, and valued.

As part of this experience, herbalist and wellness practitioner Meaka Brown will lead a plant walk and foraging session, focused on herbs that support emotional release, grief work, grounding, and protection. She’ll share how we can begin to work with these herbs intentionally, especially when navigating father wounds and ancestral healing.
Babes Herban Boutique will also be onsite with herbal teas and offerings to support your continued journey.
We’re honored to collaborate with Meaka Brown, who will be guiding the plant teachings. Meaka is also part of our upcoming Catskills Glamping Retreat during Labor Day weekend (Aug 29-Sep 1), where she’ll be leading a foraging workshop and offering Reiki sessions—this hike is a preview of the grounded, generous energy she brings.
About Meaka:
Meaka Brown is a cannabis educator, herbalist, and wellness practitioner with deep roots in plant medicine, community care, and ancestral healing. Born and raised in Boston, and a proud mother of three, her work spans herbalism, Reiki, urban farming, and cannabis advocacy—centering the body, mind, and spirit. She currently serves on the Massachusetts Cannabis Social Equity Fund Advisory Board, where she helps shape a more just and inclusive future for communities impacted by the war on drugs.
When she’s not breaking barriers in the cannabis industry, Meaka can be found tending to her garden—her “other babies,” as her kids call her plants. Whether she’s pouring tea, holding space, or teaching about herbs, her presence is healing in itself. Follow her @meaksb on Instagram.

Forget January—this is the true reset. Spring is the season of renewal, movement, and fresh starts, and this hike is all about stepping into that energy with intention.
Join us on Saturday, March 22 for the Cosmic Reset Hike, where we’ll shake off the heaviness of winter and step into what’s next. We’ll start with a grounding meditation, move through the trails with purpose, and take time to journal, reflect, and set intentions for the season ahead.
This is your chance to reset, recharge, and welcome the new year on your terms.

End 2024 on top of Overlook Mountain in the Catskills with us!
About the trail: (Moderate) The Overlook Mountain Trail is said to be one of the most popular hikes in the Catskills. But what really caught my eye was how nature has reclaimed an abandoned hotel on the trail. The mountain backdrop is going to be worth the trek up. Check this blog out if you want a play by play. Plus, the trail is only 15 minutes away from Woodstock in case you want to get a bit to eat in town after the hike.

End 2023 on top of Overlook Mountain in the Catskills with us!
Intention: This hike is about reclaiming how we heal and why nature is so healing. Because if there’s one thing you’ve learned on your healing journey is that it’s a lifelong journey so let’s find a way that speaks to us out in nature. Being in nature helps fosters a connection with ourselves and surroundings, promoting deep mindfulness and an even deeper appreciation of the natural world. Dale, let’s go.
Why?: Because spending time in nature provides a multitude of healing benefits. It reduces stress levels, alleviates symptoms of depression, boosts mood, and improves cognitive function. Nature's diverse elements strengthen the immune system contributing to faster healing and recovery.

I’ll be sending out an email 2 weeks prior and then thereafter all with information on how to prep, what to pack, and more.
Refunds are not available but you can transfer your ticket to someone else or another one-day retreat this fall. If it rains, the hike will be rescheduled for the following day. If it rains the following day, then it will be rescheduled for the following weekend, again depending on the weather.

What does it mean to reclaim your spirituality? How does nature help provide a safe space to connect with our spirituality? How important are labels like bruja or curandera? It's all goin' down at our super chill one-day retreat in the vibrant Hudson Valley this fall.
Ready to scream off a mountain together? Let’s welcome fall with a little releasing and resetting.
Intention: To honor transitioning into a new season and how we work with that energy. Plus, the fall foliage doesn’t hurt either. Look forward to a Grounding Meditation, Earthing, a Guided Spiritual Hike, an energetic cleanse with Sage and/or Palo Santo and a Guided Journaling Session.
About the hike: (Moderate at first, then intermediate) We’re headed to Anthony’s Nose trail near Cold Spring, NY where you’ll also be able to hike a section of the Appalachian Trail. If you’ve looking for a hike with a bit of a challenge, then this might do the trick. The first section of the hike is the steep 500-foot rock staircase (takes about 20-30 minutes to go up), then the trail levels out leading to the overlook with the epic views where we will take a break to rehydrate, meditate and journal before heading back. If you aren’t sure about the rock staircase, check out the photo below and/or you can read a play by play here.
Hike level: If you usually workout, you'll be okay. If you don't at all, you will huff and puff a bit but it's only the first 30 minutes. Then, it's super chill.
Distance: 2.6 miles
Space: 9 spots left
Look forward to:
Grounding meditation
Earthing
Guided Spiritual Hike
Energetic cleanse with Sage and/or Palo Santo
Guided Journaling Session

Materials provided:
Reclama Journal
Gel feather pen
Healthy snacks
Catered lunch (with veggie options as well)
Herbal tea
Public Transportation: If you're coming from NYC, you can take the Metro North train from Grand Central to Cortlandt via the Hudson Line. From there, it is about a 10-minute ride to the trailhead. If you're not down for the walk, you can easily book an Uber or Lyft. I’ll email the exact meetup spot 3 days prior.
Another transportation option: A shuttle is available for $89 RT with our partners at Outerthere. Fits up to 10 and will take you directly to the trail and back. Check out this link to book your shuttle.
Bathrooms: Only on the trains and in Cold Spring. There aren’t any at the trailhead or on the way. So we can find a spot and then the group can help cover you with our backs turned. We’ve done so in the past and you would be surprised how fast like-minded women come through for one another in nature. I also carry a bathroom kit for all the hikers so no need to pack that. I got you.
Breakdown:
10:00 AM - 11 AM: Welcome/Smudging/Introductions
11 AM - 1 PM: Hike in
1 PM - 2 PM: Snacks & Rest and Guided Journaling Session

Because when was the last time you made intentional time to be in nature?
We're headed to Vermont to get down with our inner child and sleep in a treehouse for a weekend!
Dale, we out.
This is going to be a special one-day retreat in honor of our guest author Lorraine Monteagut, PhD. She’s written a much needed book coming out this fall (October 5th) that ya girl is grateful to have been included in called BRUJAS: The Magic and Power of Witches of Color .
There will be hiking, journaling, tea, food, energy cleansing, book reading and signing, Q&A with the author, and a chance to have a seriously open conversation on what it means to be a bruja. Join us.
You can read the opening chapter, right here. And here’s a Q&A with the author from Ofrenda Magazine.
Location: The Palisades Interstate Park in New Jersey (right under the George Washington Bridge) Exact location will be emailed to you a week before the retreat
About the book:
There is a new kind of witch emerging in our cultural consciousness: the bruja.
Witchcraft has made a comeback in popular culture, especially among feminists. There is a growing subculture of younger witches, led by Afro-Latinx immigrants and indigenous Americans, who are taking up the label to reconnect to their spiritual roots, practice healing arts, and express their politics.
Brujas chronicles the magical lives of these practitioners as they extend their personal rituals to larger self-care and activist movements and use their services to empower young people of color. The bruja represents the new “witch” of the United States, a practitioner who melds ancient tradition with new technologies and mirrors the diversity and activist spirit of today’s youth.
Brujas reminds us that witchcraft is more than a trend—it’s a movement.
IMPORTANT NOTE: REFUNDS, EXCHANGES, AND TRANSFERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CAN MAKE IT BEFORE INVESTING IN THIS WEEKEND RETREAT. IF THERE IS SEVERE WEATHER, THEN THE RETREAT WILL BE RESCHEDULED.
Important updates: Because Covid-19, by investing in this experience, you are agreeing to:
Affirming that you’re in good health with proof of negative Covid test taken 3 days prior to the retreat, even if you’ve been vaccinated.
Laying low the day of and after your Covid exam so that your negative results are valid when the retreat comes around
For this weekend retreat, we’re heading up to Buttermilk Falls. This weekend retreat is focused on the reclaiming the feminine divine. We’ll be doing so with deep convos, journaling, grounding and, best of all, with yoga sessions in the woods led by yoga and acroyoga instructor Vanessa Flores.
If you were called to this Spring Equinox Retreat it’s probably because you’re in need of a spiritual reset and you know the power of healing in community, nature and journaling.
You’re also a woman of color who wants to be surrounded by mountains because it makes it easier to tune into your intuition and receive messages from your ancestors. But most of all, you understand the power of disconnecting to connect.
Well, welcome, because Reclama has a special weekend planned.
On Friday, we’re going to balance our root chakras with a lil’ dancing with Ecuadorian-Lithuanian producer, DJ, and cultural activist based in Brooklyn DJ Riobamba doing a live set on Friday night for us.
So rock that outfit you’ve been dying to wear because it makes you feel whole and beautiful. Make sure you’re also super comfy because you’ll be dancing en buena compania. The party will begin early to ensure that we get to sleep early enough for our hike the next day. If the weather is right, we might be able to take the dance party outside. Vamos a ver.
(Raise your hand if the thought of dancing is already making you happy because you know the power of music, er, twerking in resistance.)
On Saturday, we’ll stretch and meditate (outside if it’s not too chilly) or if not in the living room with the fireplace then have a delicious breakfast and coffee made by yours truly. When it comes to breakfast, I got you. There will be fresh dulce de leche pastries, coffee/tea, juice, fruit, eggs, peanut better/jelly and toast. By then, I’ll be heating up our tamales, made by local Mexican chef Jen Maxine, for the hike so bring your appetite. I’ll email you to vote on which flavors we should choose! For our Spring Equinox Hike, we’ll be hiking the Giant Ledge trail, a moderate hike about 3 miles long described as a “short hike with little effort to see the best views in the Catskills.”
Read more aqui.
After our hike, we’ll come back to the house where we’ll decompress, take a hot shower and really rest. Take a nap if you want. As long as you’re ready by 6pm so we can set an intention for the Spring season with plantitas, crystals and, of course, the almighty journal. We’ll have a catered dinner by the grill, hopefully in time for sunset, where we can sip on a little wine and toast to a new season feeling a closer to our selves. Then, we’ll end the night for one final burning ritual by the firepit and head back inside for tea/hot cocoa to wind down with a witchy movie porque why not.
Then, you’ll probably go to sleep earlier than anticipated on Saturday evening because of our hike that day but then that means you’ll wake up on Sunday feeling hella refreshed and that’s exactly how you’ll want to feel on your way back, complete with your plantita, crystals and goodie bag.
Because we’re still in a pandemic, I've made an important note below on what it means when you agree to come on this super special Spring Equinox Retreat. It’s all in the name of safety.
Please read until the end por favor.
